Ghale Gaun is a beautiful model village in north central Nepal, at the foot of the Lamjung Himal (6986m). This village is inhabited mostly by the Gurung communities. Many members of Ghale Gaun, who have served and are currently serving the British Army, are known as the famous Gurkha soldiers. It lies in the north west of the capital Kathmandu approximately 205 km away and 125 Km. far from Pokhara city. Ghale Gaun is not only for exploring local life of Nepali people, it also offers superb breathtaking views of the mountains including South Annapurna(7,219m), Annapurna II(7,937m), Himalchuli(7,893m), Machhapuchare(6,998m), Lamjung Himal(6986m), Buddha Himal(6,692m) and the world’s eight highest peak Mount Manaslu(8,156m). Under the ‘Ghale Village Homestay’ program people get a firsthand experience of village life in Nepal, particularly Ghale Gaun, the Gurung village. Under this program tourists get to stay in the villages of Nandighar, Pasagaun and Ghalegaun. They also get to observe and participate in day to day activities of these villages.
